We encourage you to submit points to the Github repo for this map.
Yellow dots on the map represent actual (crawler-primarily based) search engines like google; to ensure that something to be given a yellow dot they should have a known crawler, one which might be uniquely identified by a webmaster as belonging to the search engine in query and due to this fact blocked by robots.txt.
Indexes constructed without this, or are unable to indicate proof of an impartial crawler will probably be given an orange dot. All other varieties of search engine i.e. metasearch engines, are given green dots and linked to the indexes which they pull from.

Certain search engines like google and yahoo weren't included for reasons corresponding to: not offering results within the English language, remaining stagnant for a long period of time without being updated, being of poor high quality with technical issues and glitches, not having enough information about who they are (notably when describing themselves as having a privateness focus), having a history of spamming, being a replica of another search engine, and/or pushing an unrelated advertising and marketing agenda.
Google Web Search API was closed and replaced with Google 'Custom Search'. This can be a limited API compared to its predecessor, therefore the 'Custom Search' engines weren't included.

The info is incredibly useful.
